About Bitcoin Learning Academy

Who’s behind this site, and why it exists.

Ben and Bernie

I’m Ben Pettinari — husband, father of two boys, and builder of a few businesses. My days mostly revolve around family: running errands, driving to kids’ sports, the normal stuff. Bitcoin fits into the margins of that life, but it’s become something I care deeply about.

Like a lot of people, I heard about Bitcoin for years before I actually took the time to understand it. And when I did try to learn, I found the explanations either too shallow or too technical. There wasn’t a clean middle ground for someone who wanted to understand what Bitcoin is, why it matters, and how it might change the world — without needing a computer science degree.

I’m not an expert. I’m not a developer. I’m not a cryptographer. I’m a Bitcoin enthusiast who believes the space needs clearer, friendlier on-ramps for people who are exactly where I was a few years ago. That’s why I built Bitcoin Learning Academy.

What this site is

Bitcoin Learning Academy is a free resource designed to help newcomers understand Bitcoin. 244 lessons across 28 modules, a 75-term glossary, historical context, and practical guidance on wallets, exchanges, and long-term storage. No paywalls, no required signups, no investment advice.

What this site is not

This is not financial advice. I am not a financial advisor, not a Certified Bitcoin Professional, and not a professional educator. I am a curious builder sharing what I’ve learned in a format I wish had existed when I started. For anything involving your money, consult qualified professionals.
